For most people, celebrating a birthday is a something that they look forward to. While you may not countdown the number of days until your birthday starting six months before it rolls around, chances are you get at least a bit giddy the week of. That said, regardless of if you make a big deal out of your birthday celebration or not, chances are you enjoy spending your special day with the people that matter to you most. For some, that is a small group of friends and family, and for others it is everybody and anybody that wants to come out and share a drink with you for your birthday. Many people try and go out to a big lavish dinner where everybody can come and enjoy a nice meal in the spirit of a birthday. Others try and make it a bit more intimate, inviting friends and family over to their apartment or home to enjoy a night of socializing and drinking in a familiar setting. While both of these can lead to a fun evening, neither of them are unique enough to really be a memorable night for most people.

While family reunions are universal, the way in which one celebrates with his or her family can vary.

Family reunions, generally speaking, revolve around a large gathering and a large meal. For some people, a classic and favorite restaurant is the perfect place to gather the group and enjoy a long, relaxed dinner while catching up with everybody seated along the (extra long) table. This way, you and your family can enjoy eating and talking and not have to worry about preparing any food, or cleaning up at all after the meal. Going to a restaurant has its advantages, but that does not mean it is the perfect or ideal place to host your next family reunion.

For most people, a family reunion takes place during the warmer months and is the perfect event to structure around an outdoor picnic. This way, size is not an issue, as you can gather as many people as you want in a single outdoor space.

If you choose to have a picnic, you can go about feeding your family in a couple of ways. First, you may be inclined to hire an outside organization, such as a catering company, handle the preparation of all the food and drink that you want to be served. This is advantageous much the way going to a restaurant is, as you do not need to worry about setting up or cleaning up before and after the event. Another popular option is to have every member of your family come with a dish that they made on their own. Putting all these foods together makes for a wonderful, delicious and homemade spread to choose and pick from.

One of the biggest concerns about organizing and hosting an event like a family reunion outdoors is how the weather will effect the celebration. However, with outdoor instant shelters, you can put your mind at ease knowing that your event will be a success no matter what the weather is doing. With outdoor instant shelters, the rain won’t ruin your family’s parade.

Moreover, outdoor instant shelters may prove helpful on even the sunniest of days. With a family reunion, you are likely to have some relatives attend who are particularly old and have difficulty absorbing a full day in the sun. As a result, having an outdoor instant shelter set up at your family reunion’s picnic will provide people who need it a break from the sun and they can enjoy the day’s festivities from a comfortable seat in the shade.

Having an outdoor party is a fantastic and very original way to celebrate your birthday. With an outdoor instant shelter by your side, you won’t have to worry about the weather leaving you or your guests stuck out to dry. Go ahead and enjoy your big day, rain or shine!
