Although different people react different to bug bites, most do experience either a rash, reddish skin or severe itching. Whereas, although far less, may see no symptoms whatsoever. Whatever the case, it is never to fun to experience insect bites of any kind; Therefore, it is best when and where possible to work from a direction of prevention rather than treatment.

Still, in order to know whether or not one is infected with such bites, one needs to know a general description of the bite and associated symptoms. These can include, but are not limited to, a rash, reddish skin or small red bumps and welts. Therefore, as individuals experience different symptoms related to such bites, it is often good to confirm that these bites are what one is experiencing so that one can cleanse and disinfect all areas which may be contaminated while at the same time using an anti-itch gel if necessary.

Also, knowing how such pests get inside the home can prevent future infestations. However, once these pests are in the clothing and furniture it can often be next to impossible to rid a house of same. Although, one can watch for indicators as to how these pests are getting into the home.

Such indicators include, but are not limited to, dead bugs, eggs, shed skin, fluids, feces and blood among others. One often finds such indicators in the linens, mattress and box springs of homes which are infested. To this end, it is important to clean and use disinfectant on all clothing and furniture to prevent such infestations in the future.

Of course, one of the easiest ways to detect if one has an infestation is if one has bites on their body which can not be explained. These bites may appear as bumps, welts, a rash or just reddish colored skin. Regardless, if one is concerned over such a skin condition, one may want to see a skin specialist in relation to same.

To this end, if one can use a preventative spray, cleanse and disinfect all infested areas and know what symptoms to look for in the future, one can generally avoid bed bug bites from happening. However, if one does get bitten, there is usually no long term health damage related to same.
